According to the UEFA cofficients of the countries 2015-2016, an access list first defines the number of clubs an association has the right to send. The breakdown for the 2017-2018 season is as follows
The holder of the title of the previous edition;
The associations in places 1 to 3 send the four best clubs of their championship.
The associations in places 4 to 6 send the three best clubs of their championship.
The associations in places 7 to 15 send the two best clubs of their championship.
The associations in places 16 to 55, send the best club of their championship.
The winner of the Europa League 2016-2017 if not qualified through his national championship.
The final will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine on May 26, 2018.
