The 2019 African Nations Cup of Nations is the 32nd edition of the African Cup of Nations, which is set to take place in Egypt from June 21st to July 19th, 2019.
It is the first organized gathering 24 teams participating and to take place in summer.
The qualification phase is held between March 2017 and March 2019. Initially, the tournament was scheduled in Cameroon, but the African Football Confederation decided to withdraw the organization on November 30, 2018, due to delays in the work and insecurity in several regions.
At the CAF symposium in Rabat in 2017, the CAF decided (decree of 20 July) to increase the number of teams in the final phase from 16 to 24.
This increase in the number of participants resulted in an increase in the number of games to 52, the duration of the competition and the number of stadiums from four to six.
