The Belgian Football Championship D1A is a football-association competition created in 1895.
In Belgium, the term "championship" applies to all divisions. The highest, often referred to as "Division 1", is officially named "Jupiler Pro League" according to sponsor Jupiler.
Since the 2016-2017 season and the reform of the championships, the championship is renamed "Division 1A".
The most successful Belgian clubs are RSC Anderlecht with 34 titles, Brugge FC with 14, Union St-Gilloise with 11 and Standard Liege with 10.
